A Middleton man was arrested Wednesday night after he broke into a family member's home and started a fire on the kitchen stove, according to a release. Before the fire was started, the family member left her Gammon Lane apartment to call 911 after 20-year-old Rukeem M. Harrison broke into her apartment, officials said. While she was calling, the concerned neighbor went over to the apartment and saw clothes burning on top of the kitchen stove, according to the release. Officers determined Harrison started the fire by placing clothing on the kitchen stove and turning the burners on high, police said. They also said he caused significant damage to the apartment, including broken dishes, glasses, electronics and other items.
