Sheboygan Fire Department fights three fires in seven-hour span

The Sheboygan Fire Department responded to three fires within seven hours beginning early Monday morning. Shortly after 2 a.m., heavy smoke and flames were reported coming from an apartment building in the 3400 block of 10th Street. Battalion Chief Robert Kocmoud said all rigs were on the scene. Firefighters then responded to a fire at a single-family home in the 600 block of Zimble Avenue at 3:29 a.m., where they contained a fire in the basement. At 7:16 a.m., the department responded to a fire at another single-family home in the 4000 block of South 15th Street. Kocmoud said there were reports of heavy smoke at the scene.
