Milwaukee firefighters honored fellow firefighters who died in the line of duty. Firefighters read the names of their 131 fallen colleagues. Advertisement Some of the names dated back to the 1800s. The fire chief said this annual tradition serves as a reminder to those who put the uniform on every day. "As we recognize them, it kind of brings it home that these individuals came to work like all our firefighters do every day and something tragic happened and they didn't go home," Milwaukee Fire Department Chief Mark Rohlfing said. The ceremony coincides with National Fire Prevention Week.
