The fire chief said this annual tradition serves as a reminder to those who put the uniform on every day. "As we recognize them, it kind of brings it home that these individuals came to work like all our firefighters do every day and something tragic happened and they didn't go home," Milwaukee Fire Department Chief Mark Rohlfing said.
