Never Forget: Wisconsin first responders honor victims of September 11 attacks

Area first responders are remembering the victims and families impacted by the September 11 attacks. Eighteen years ago today, 19 people associated with the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against the United State A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, D.C. and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The attacks in New York City caused the north and south towers of the World Trade Center to collapse. The New York City Medical Examiner's Office has been working to identify the remains of the 2,753 people reported missing in the terror attacks, according to CNN.
