A barn on the Biadasz family farm in the Town of Buena Vista is a total loss after hay caught fire and spread through the building Monday morning.
Firefighters from nine fire departments responded to the fire off County Road EE, just south of County Road D in Portage County.
"We're all working together and it takes us all to work on a big fire like this, especially with the hot conditions," Village of Plover Fire Chief Mark Deaver said.
Responding departments include Plover, Amherst, Rudolph, Stevens Point, Almond, Bancroft, Hull, Stockton, and Park Ridge.
The fire started just after 10:20 a.m. Monday. The cause is still under investigation.
"We've gone through Hell and back," said the barn's owner, Bob Biadasz. "A little over three years ago I lost my son, now I lose this and it's getting tough, I says farming is tough, but this, this is just devastating."
