1 killed in Sheboygan house fire, another displaced

One person died Tuesday after a fire broke out at a house in Sheboygan. Firefighters responded around 2 p.m. Tuesday to a house in the 2300 block of South Ninth Street in Sheboygan, according to the Sheboygan Fire Department. A caller reported smoke was coming from the second-floor window of the home. Firefighters went inside the home and found one victim on the second floor. The victim was treated on scene and taken to the hospital, where resuscitation efforts failed and the victim was pronounced dead, according to the department. Crews put out the fire and were able to limit fire damage to the second floor. Damage from the fire is estimated to be $20,000, according to the department. One other person who lived in the home was not injured but has been displaced. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
