The Madison Fire Department is investigating the cause of a garage fire that displaced a family on Sunday night. The residents were at home watching the end of the Packers game when they heard a noise coming from the garage. One of the residents got up to investigate and found a fire in their garage with lots of flames and smoke. Everyone evacuated and called 911 at around 8:40 p.m. The fire was put out by 9:02 p.m. Firefighters reported seeing heavy black smoke and flames coming through the garage roof. The fire damaged the garage and the two cars parked inside. The kitchen and roof of the home are also damaged, while the rest of the house has smoke damage. All of the residents are safe, including the family cat. They are all currently displaced.
