Two people were displaced from their home after a fire Tuesday night in a duplex on the city’s west side.
Fire crews responded to the fire around 7 p.m. in the 400 block of Silver Spring Drive, according to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. The first units on scene saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the living room windows.
Officials said firefighters contained the smoke to the living room, but there was heat and smoke damage throughout the home. The other side of the duplex wasn’t damaged.
Officials said the fire displaced two residents, who are being helped by the Red Cross and family.
Officials said the fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage, and the cause is under investigation.
