This is a really challenging and difficult time for all of us. However, area fire departments are trying to show a sign of solidarity. In Galesville, along with many other communities across the country, they rolled up the station bay doors and turned on all the lights of their fire trucks at 7 p.m. Wednesday night. Firefighters say this is a small gesture they wanted to make as a sign of strength and hope for everyone who works in EMS, fire, law enforcement, those working in the the food and grocery industry to feed us, and for those truckers logging miles to keep us supplied. They also asked others join in at home by lighting up their front porch to let people know they’re OK. They were hoping to be able to create 5 minutes of some smiles and peace.
