A 35-year-old man is in critical condition after being found unconscious in Beaver Lake on Wednesday morning.
According to Jason Roberts, a safety specialist warden with the Department of Natural Resources, law enforcement was dispatched at 10:39 a.m. to the Beaver Lake Public Access.
"He was in a kayak," Roberts said of the man. "There is no indication of a (personal flotation device) on him. We went up and down the shoreline to see whether there was a PFD on the vessel at the time."
Medical staff performed CPR on site, Roberts said. The man was transported to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition.
Roberts said the cause of the incident is unknown at this point.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, the Hartland Fire Department and the Town of Delafield Fire Department assisted Chenequa.
