A dog is safe after a Wednesday morning house fire while no one was home, according to Madison fire officials. Neighbors of the home on Elka Lane called 911 just before 7:30 a.m., and crews were able to put the fire out in about 10 minutes. Nobody was in the house at the time, but firefighters were able to get a dog out of the house. Fire officials tell News 3 Now they’re still trying to get in contact with the homeowners. Neighbors are looking after the dog until the owners can be notified. No injuries were reported and crews do not know yet what caused the fire.
