Community members around Tomah gathered to help celebrate the fire departments’ 150 years of serving the community.
From parades, music, games, and more, the fire department hosted the free event to connect with the community. Fire departments from around the area came to Tomah to help out and to help celebrate.
The Tomah Fire Chief says 150 years is a big deal and celebrations like this are important because a lot of places don’t have resources for a fire department.
“A lot of communities like Tomah couldn’t afford a full-time fire department so volunteerism is very important. It keeps it going so hopefully we can keep going for many years,” said Tomah Fire Chief, Tim Adler.
