Officials in Waukesha have evacuated a condo building that is in imminent danger of collapsing. The fire chief ordered the Horizon West Condominium Building on North West Avenue evacuated immediately. The order was issued about 7:25 p.m. Thursday. Officials said the danger was caused by deteriorating structural conditions. The integrity was determined by an independent inspection, city officials said. The report said the structural columns were in a compromised condition. "The moment we became aware of these issues this evening, we put an evacuation plan into action," Fire Chief Steve Howard said in a news release. Crews erected fencing around the condo building to keep people away. The six-story building consists of 48 units.
