Fire crews in Appleton found the body of a man while they battled a fire last night (May 5th). Crews were called to the 1600 block of South Mayfair Drive at around 11:00 PM, where they battled a fire for about 45 minutes. After they brought the blaze under control, they found the body of a man said to be the lone occupant of the home. The identity of the man has not been released. The home was listed as a total loss as it suffered severe damage, while the cause has not yet been determined. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation State Fire Marshal’s Office is helping with the investigation.
