A sheriff's deputy saved two people from a house fire in Waupun. Fond du Lac County Sheriff's deputy Derek Rehfeldt was driving through the city when he saw smoke coming from a nearby house. He helped two men and a dog escape as the house filled with smoke. "I'm really glad God put me in that place at the right time and it worked out," Rehfeldt told WBAY-TV. "This is who we are, this is what we do. You know officers, first responders, you know, whether in corrections, whatever you are, you're going to, you're going to do this every day, because we care about the public, we care about helping people and this is why we get up and go to work every day," Rehfeldt said. The house was destroyed, but no one was hurt.
