A fire broke out in the kitchen of the Mad Rooster Cafe in West Milwaukee on Wednesday, forcing evacuation of the restaurant.
The Milwaukee Fire Department, which provides fire and emergency medical services for West Milwaukee, responded to the restaurant, 4401 W. Greenfield Ave., at 10:10 a.m., said Milwaukee Fire Department Deputy Chief Erich Roden.
Roden said there was a fire in the kitchen and some hot spots in the duct work that firefighters worked to extinguish.
He said everyone in the building was able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported.
It's not clear how many people were in the restaurant at the time.
When reached by phone, the business declined to comment. It is uncertain whether the cafe has reopened.
