A man serving time on work release for arson was arrested again in a string of fires that were spotted Monday by Waukesha bus drivers.
Surveillance video shows a man placing something in a dumpster moments before it caught on fire Monday at the Waukesha Metro Transit Center. "Got a call from a driver who observed a dumpster on fire at the transit center," said Daniel Peterson, head of security for Waukesha Metro Transit.
Peterson arrived to find a garbage can inside on the concourse also on fire and another dumpster burned minutes later just down the street.
"I saw an urgency in getting him apprehended quick," Peterson said. "It endangers the lives of everybody. If this was his proclivity of starting fires for his cheap thrills, that I just speculated that he could probably be starting fires and do a residence and maybe fatalities in the balance."
The suspect was arrested nearby.
