When there is an emergency, we invite firefighters into our homes- no questions asked. La Crosse Fire Chief Jeff Schott says with that privilege comes great responsibility.
On Wednesday, the La Crosse Fire Department hosted a focus group with community stakeholders. The Minnesota group, Ethical Leaders in Action, ran the session. Ethics was a key part of the discussion, but Chief Schott says the goal is much broader than avoiding wrong doing. The fire department wants to hear outside perspectives to improve it’s service now and in the future.
“Part of that is making sure the people that we serve are being served the way that they need to be. And that the standards we have set as a fire department,” Chief Schott said.
The focus group included members of the police department, Tri-state ambulance. city leaders, and local business owners.
