Brain Gehrig and The Pine Lake Fire Department is participating in the “Keep the Wreath Green" campaign, a way to bring public awareness to fire safety. "We have been doing this every year for the past several years, where we would put up a wreath at each one of our stations," said Chief Brian Gehrig. The Pine Lake Fire Department’s wreath lightbulb is completely green right now which is a great sign. It means that there has been no structure fires within their area.
"If you see a red light on the wreath that indicates that they have responded to a house fire during a holiday season, all green wreath is a very good sign," said Gehrig. People strive to decorate their house with lights during the holidays, but Gehrig says it is important to take extra caution to prevent disasters, like checking your smoke director.
