A man is injured after a home explosion in Glendale.
Firefighters used high-powered streams to knock down unstable parts of the house here in the 5600 block of North Sievers Place, which they say is a total loss.
Neighbors say it started with a big boom.
They say at first they thought it was a tree falling over -- then they saw flames.
Firefighters were called to the scene just after 3:00 p.m. When they arrived, they transported the man -- who they said had significant, but non-life-threatening wounds. He was taken to a burn center.
Neighbors who pulled him out of the fire say it's likely a cigarette that may have caused the fire.
"I saw him coming out of the front window yelling for help, my husband and a couple other neighbors pulled him out to safety, and the house was pretty much engulfed in flames within a couple of minutes," said neighbor Diana Sanders.
