VIDEO: A large-scale barn fire in the Town of Clayton on Wednesday afternoon drew help from ten fire departments in the area.
According to the Town of Clayton Fire Rescue, crews were dispatched around 12:20 p.m. on September 28 and stated that heavy smoke was visible when crews were on the way to the scene. When crews arrived, the barn was consumed in flames, causing a nearby shed to also catch fire. Due to the nature of the incident, additional help was called in from neighboring departments, bringing in ten departments in total.
Officials say that the fire was extinguished in just over an hour using roughly 30,000 gallons of water, and they were able to stop the spread of the fire from impacting the nearby area.
No animals or equipment were in the barn and no injuries were reported.
