An early morning fire at a Wausau business resulted in injuries for a firefighter from the Wausau area. According to a press release, it happened at eight in the morning on Tuesday as firefighters were called to a fire at Lucky Mai’s in the 100 block of S. Third Ave. No one was in the building as firefighters entered after smelling smoke and discovered flames emanating from the basement. The department did not provide details on the extent of the firefighter’s injuries after he received medical attention. The Riverside Fire Department and SAFER Fire District assisted the Wausau Fire Department in taming the blaze and the cause is still being investigated.
