PHOTO: The Green Bay Police Department and the Green Bay Metro Fire Department held a public safety night with the city hall academy on Thursday. Together, the two agencies showed how they would respond to a mock crash of someone driving while intoxicated as part of an eight-week program that gives the people who live in the community a better understanding of the city’s processes. This mock crash shows the teamwork required in emergency situations. “Seeing this collaboration, I think it’s important,” said Green Bay Metro Fire Chief Matthew Knott. “We work together on a daily basis because we’re great partners in public safety. Like I said, this is a great way to highlight and showcase what we do.” One of the people involved in the academy says everyone should do it to get a better understanding of how things run in the department’s day-to-day life.
