The Morgantown Fire Department has earned a Class Two Rating from the Insurance Services Office, making the department within the top 3% of U.S. fire departments in regards to their ability to protect their community.
“I am extremely proud of the accomplishments of the department,” said Morgantown Fire Chief Mark Caravasos. “This improved rating embodies the hard work and dedication of the city’s firefighters.”
The department was evaluated by ISO inspectors in the spring. Communications, training records, water systems, response times, and staffing were among the things reviewed.
