A 64-year-old Fairmont man was charged with arson in connection with a fire at the Country Club Motor Lodge Thursday night in Fairmont, according to a criminal complaint. The complaint states that Randy Odell Player of 1528 Longview Dr. faces the felony charge. He was placed in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $750,000 bail, according to court records. In the complaint, a Fairmont Police Department sergeant said he responded to the report of a structure fire at the lodge, located at 1499 Locust Ave., and saw the back half of the second floor fully involved with flames showing on both sides of the building. The Fairmont Fire Department arrived on scene and began fighting the fire.
