Beckley Fire Department Shift Captain Joseph Coughlin confirmed that one man is dead following a house fire on the 300 block of N. Kanawha St. Sunday evening. The identity of the man has not yet been confirmed. Coughlin said that he and his crew were dispatched at 4:27 p.m. Upon arrival, Coughlin said that there were power lines laying across the roof and in the front yard. The fire is currently being investigated by the West Virginia State Fire Marshall, but is being deemed a structure fire.
