Multiple crews responded to an apartment fire in Jefferson Sunday afternoon. Firefighters said a fire broke out on the second floor of an apartment in the 6700 block of MacCorkle Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. Sunday. Everyone made it out of the building safely. Extra fire crews were called in to help because of the size of the building, The West Side, Lakewood and Jefferson fire departments responded to the fire. Firefighters were rotating shifts fighting the blaze because of the heat.
