Firefighters from around Wood County gathered Monday evening to honor fellow firefighters that died in the last year. "I think this ceremony is very important for us to remember the ones that we've lost in the last year and really honor their service, says Chief Jason Matthews, Parkersburg Fire Department. “No matter if it was a retired member or an active member, we still want to remember them and honor them for all their time spent working for the community.” The Wood County Firefighters Association held their annual memorial service at the Parkersburg Fire Station. The ceremonry was led by Fire Chief Jason Matthews.
