A new CPR device is making work for the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department firefighters and EMTs more efficient. The device is called a Lucas 2 CPR Device, and Assistant Fire Chief David Hodges is excited about what he has seen after training sessions with his department. "It is such a positive vibe throughout the department," he said. "Many of our guys are familiar with them because we also work in Charleston. We're seeing a return of spontaneous circulation rates by nearly three times the national average. So now we are bringing that to our community and the public response has been very positive and they are asking about it. The first time it was used on a call, it had positive results."
