It was a normal day for many in Monroe County on Sunday, May 13, 2018.
Then, first responders' pagers went off. Firefighters, including Assistant Fire Chief for Ballard Volunteer Fire Department, Craig Gillespie, got their gear and rushed to the scene of an accident.
"Said it was on Route 12, about two miles from our station. Three cars were involved, possible entrapment, and one on fire both at the same time," Gillespie said.
Once crews arrived on scene, they quickly noticed how bad the accident really was. A woman was trapped inside a vehicle that was extremely close to another car on fire.
