A fire official says operations have been suspended at a Macy's distribution center in West Virginia after a fire broke out. No one was hurt. Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Capt. Brian Mulligan tells The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown, Maryland , that the state fire marshal is investigating the cause of Saturday night's fire in a portion of the 2 million square foot facility north of Martinsburg. Mulligan says the facility's sprinkler system helped contain the fire, although an undetermined number of packages were burned or soaked. He says about 1,000 employees were evacuated. Macy's spokeswoman Andrea Schwartz says the company is thankful the employees are safe. Schwartz says "as we continue to assess the potential impact to our (West Virginia) center, we have other fulfillment options, including multiple mega centers across the country, to serve our customers."
