Authorities in West Virginia said a woman has been killed by a tree that fell onto her home. Cheat Lake Volunteer Fire Chief Jason Christopher told news outlets the uprooted tree fell onto the home early Monday east of Morgantown. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity wasn't immediately released. Christopher says weather likely contributed to the accident. He said high winds occurred during the night and the ground was saturated from heavy rains.
