A man has been charged after he allegedly shot off fireworks in his apartment in Monongalia County July 1. Police say, Christopher Grimes had been drinking at his apartment at Brook View Apartments. Grimes said he eventually went to Donald Hall's apartment. According to the West Virginia Fire Marshal's office, Hall said that Grimes was more intoxicated than usual when he arrived. Grimes ate some food, drank beer and did shots with Hall. Grimes then began talking about setting off fireworks but was talked out of it by Hall. Hall said at some point Grimes got mad and left. Hall said that he heard Grimes breaking the windows out of his apartment and yelling. Hall's daughter allegedly went over to Grimes' apartment to try and calm him down. Police say Hall's daughter told Grimes that he was breaking his stuff up, and Grimes replied that's not all he was going to break up.
