PHOTOS: William Dowler had just finished using a brush hog on his farm and was putting his tractor away in a building when he saw smoke on top of his house Monday evening. The fire at 243 Farm View Drive, off Lost Pavement Road, in Wood County apparently started at the front of the two-story wood farmhouse in the living room area, said Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mark Stewart. The fire call to the fire departments arrived at 7:16 p.m. Monday. A cause has not been determined and an investigation will continue today, Stewart said. The house is a total loss, Stewart said. Firefighters from Lubeck, Blennerhassett, Washington Bottom and Mineral Wells made a quick knockdown of the fire but it had been burning for a while, Stewart said.
