Body found in rubble of house fire in Alum Creek

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating after a body was discovered in the rubble of a home destroyed by a fire in Kanawha County. The fire happened about 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of Brooke Road in Alum Creek. Alum Creek Volunteer Fire Department Chief James Oldaker said when firefighters arrived at the scene, the home was engulfed in flames and falling to the ground. He said the home had been abandoned, and they weren't able to locate anyone inside of the rubble.
