PHOTOS: A Charleston humane officer and some firefighters recently came to the rescue of some puppies in a tight spot. Humane Officer K. Messinger had located two puppies stuck in a hollowed out tree on Noyes Ave., according to a Facebook post from the Charleston Police Department. After multiple attempts to crawl in and get the puppies out, Messinger contacted the Charleston Fire Department for assistance. Firefighters arrived and were able to dig the two puppies out.
