No serious injuries were reported in an apartment building fire Monday night in Spencer, our crew at the scene reports. Firefighters say they received the call around 8 p.m. about the incident along First Street. Mutual aid from Calhoun and Jackson counties was called in to assist firefighters from Roane County. As many as 40 to 50 firefighters fought the fire. According to our crew at the scene, a few firefighters suffered temporary heat exhaustion during the event. One tenant's unit was affected, but the two neighboring units were not damaged. There is no word at this time about the cause of the fire. Keep checking the WSAZ app for the latest information
