Investigators say foul play is suspected in a fire that caused a building to partially collapse Monday afternoon in downtown Williamson. A suspicious fire along Second Avenue in Williamson, West Virginia, caused the building to partially collapse Monday afternoon. They think someone lit a fire in the elevator shaft around 1 to 2 a.m. Monday. Williamson Fire Chief Joey Carey said crews put out that fire and returned about six hours later. He said investigators believe whoever set the first fire came back and started another one. The fire happened in the 100 block of Second Avenue. Carey said he showed up at the fire shortly after it was dispatched. "We got the call at 7:30 this morning," he said. " Vented quickly so there was a lot of heavy fire before we even got here."
