The members of Citizens Fire Company celebrated another year of service at its annual recognition banquet. The event, held at the Charles Town Moose Lodge, allowed the members of the company to honor their own for a successful 2019.
Company president Ronald Fletcher shared with guests that Citizens responded to a total of 2,057 calls over the course of the year.
“In addition to that number of calls, the number of hours given by our members was approximately 8,555,” Fletcher added. “And those hours were incident hours, they did not include things like fundraisers, training, meetings, standbys or office hours.
“You all put in a lot to protect this community and the citizens in it,” Fletcher added, addressing the members.
Fletcher took the opportunity to share some information on the funds that communities are saved by volunteer department service, both nationwide and locally.
