A Chatham County family is out of their home following a fire Wednesday afternoon on Salt Creek Road. Joey Prosser was mowing the grass when he noticed flames shooting out of his mobile home. "My wife was watching TV and I looked up at the house and seen flames coming out the back bedroom. I was thinking we got to hurry. We got to make this quick. the fire was on us,” Prosser said. Prosser was able to get his wife out safely. Firefighters got there quickly to battle the fire. Unfortunately, they were not able to save the home. The flames weren't the only thing firefighters were battling on the sweltering August afternoon. "A couple of them are getting treated just because of the heat outside,” Chatham County Fire District Chief Chris Mills said.
