Macon residents Jan and Wallas Taylor have been married for 59 years.
“She wakes up smiling every day," said Wallas Taylor.
The couple shared a special dance at the John Wesley Villas Sweetheart Ball to celebrate Valentine's Day on Wednesday. Local firefighters and military planned the heart-filled event for the seniors who live there.
Fire Inspector Carrell Rembert, Sr., said, “They paved the way for us, so to take time out to enjoy this time and spend with them it’s very monumental for them as well for me."
Pink firefighter hats and chocolates covered each table as men and women cut the rug to the "cupid shuffle."
