One person has been displaced after a fire at 40th Street in Savannah on Tuesday, according to a release.
Savannah Fire extinguished the blaze at 1434 East 40th Street shortly after they were dispatched at 4:38 p.m. on June 5. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from the home, but were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
Firefighters believe the fire began in a ceiling light and spread through the attic from the rear of the home.
No one was home at the time, so there were no injuries. Power to the home was cut and the resident was displaced. The Red Cross was called to assist with his needs.
