The Boy Scouts of America and the Cobb County Fire Department gathered Monday afternoon to honor a young hero.
Cub Scout Connor Green, 9, leapt into action when his mother suffered an asthma attack and went into cardiac arrest in February.
The two were alone in the house when mother Christie Green, a teacher, started having trouble breathing and called Connor’s name.
“I was nervous and afraid that I was going to lose my mom,” Connor said at a ceremony in his honor at Fire Station 13 Monday.
Connor didn’t let his fear stop him from calling 911 and following the dispatcher’s orders, checking his mother’s breathing and pulse, and unlocking the door so the first responders could give her emergency care.
