A Decatur Family Dollar is closed after one of the aisles caught fire early Monday morning. Four people were taken to a hospital for minor injuries and smoke inhalation. No one was burned, fire investigators say. Channel 2’s Christian Jennings was there as the parking lot of the store located at Glenwood Road and Columbia Drive was taped off. DeKalb County firefighters said they got to the scene around 8:45 a.m. Monday. The store had not been open long when an employee noticed the flames and called 911. Investigators are looking into what sparked the fire. Capt. Dion Bentley with DeKalb County Fire described what firefighters faced when they first pulled up.
