A man is dead after a house fire early Monday morning, according to the Bibb County Fire Department. Crews responded to the call at 3:10 a.m. in the 100 block of Gardener Street. When crews arrived, they reported heavy flames in the front of the home. Crews were able to locate the two people inside quickly. A 77-year-old man died on the scene from fire related injuries and a 66-year-old woman was taken to the hospital. She was treated for minor smoke inhalation. Investigators are currently working to determine what caused the fire.
