The Oswego Fire Protection District Board of Trustees and Fire Commission has named John Cornish as the Assistant Chief. Cornish had most recently been the Support Services Captain. The promotion is a recognition of the work and responsibilities he was already undertaking, according to the board. The board also named two new firefighters/paramedics and appointed one other existing member to a staff position. Firefighters/paramedics Tyler Roberts and Ryan Marshall were sworn in at the Monday night ceremony. Roberts has previously been a paid-on-all firefighter Marshall has done paramedic ride-time with the district while in paramedic school. Matthew Goodbred was appointed as the district’s first full-time EMS Coordinator. Goodbred was previously working on shift as a full-time firefighter/paramedic while also co-coordinating department-wide emergency medical services responsibilities.
