Maroa Fire Department was called to a house fire at 4:41 p.m. on North Wood Street in Maroa Wednesday. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the house and were able to quickly extinguish the fire while others vented the roof. Hickory Point, Argenta - Oreana, Clinton and Kenney Fire Departments also assisted in the fire response. Latham Fire Department stood by the Maroa Fire Department during the response. No word yet on injuries or how the fire started.
