Three different fire departments reportedly responded to a fire overnight at an assisted living home in Winterville.
Winterville Fire Rescue EMS says that they were called out to the Winterville Manor assisted living home at 2527 Jones Street around Midnight Tuesday.
Firefighters say a fire had started in the laundry room, which has been ruled accidental.
But while crews were working to put that fire out, the 27 residents had to be evacuated for a couple hours as smoke filled the home, and were displaced for the night due to cleanup.
Fire officials say there were no injuries.
There's an estimated $5,000 worth of damage, they say.
The Red Oak Fire and Winterville Community Fire departments assisted with the call.
