Lenoir County home destroyed by fire, elderly woman escapes safely

PHOTOS: A Deep Run home went up in flames Thursday with an elderly woman inside. The woman was uninjured and made it out safely, according to firefighters. The call came in around 8:30 a.m. Fire crews from Deep Run, Pink Hill, Potters Hill, Albertson and Southwood battled the blaze at 4016 Live Oak Hog Company Rd. It took about 15 minutes to put out the blaze but the home is a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
