Dozens of firefighters and law enforcement officers will take off from Smithfield on their bikes Monday morning to honor colleagues who died in the line of duty. The group which calls itself the “Carolina Brotherhood” will ride 625 miles in six days to honor ten firefighters, five law enforcement officers, and one paramedic who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2015. They’ll stop in each city where those 16 public safety workers and three police K-9s lost their lives. They’ll also meet with families and help them financially if needed.
